By the numbers, Blessing Okagbare's Saturday at Eugene's USATF Grand Prix Continental Tour was remarkable for how quickly it unfolded.
The UTEP alum's winning 100-meter time of 10.97 seconds was the second fastest in the world in this young outdoor season, stamping her as a favorite in this summer's Tokyo Olympics.
In the bigger picture, Okagbare's path back to the top of the world was long and arduous, but now obviously heading to a lofty place.
"It’s been hard," Okagbare said of her last four years. "There have been a lot of injuries, a lot of setbacks.
