ALBUQUERQUE - The youthful UTEP men's basketball program took a big step forward on Saturday night.
The 2-3 Miners played their best game of the season despite losing 84-78 to old Western Athletic Conference foe, New Mexico, at Dreamstyle Arena — The Pit.
UTEP started three freshman and a sophomore in Saturday's loss to UNM, which is its third loss on the road this year.
