UTEP great, World Champion and world record holder Tobi Amusan has been provisionally suspended after allegedly missing three drug tests in a 12-month span.
Amusan, a 100-meter hurdler who has never tested positive for performance enhancing drugs, said in an Instagram post Tuesday she will vigorously defend herself at a disciplinary tribunal hearing that will take place before next month’s world championships, making it possible for the ban to be lifted before the meet.
Her last race was Tuesday in Hungary and her Instagram post came after that.
The Athletics Integrity Unit, which handles doping cases in track and field, confirmed that Amusan is provisionally suspended, which could bring up to a two-year suspension.
