Football teams like to think of themselves as family, and for the UTEP football team, that's remarkably literal as the Miners head into Friday's prime time showdown with Boise State.
The Miners feature five sets of brothers, and when former walk-on Blake Thompson earned his first career start at defensive tackle last week against New Mexico, he and his brother Trent (UTEP's starting tight end), became the first of those five to have both brothers on the top line of the depth chart.
"This is something that I am going to cherish for the rest of my life,” said the junior Blake Thompson, who is older than his senior brother.
