UTEP now has a signature win in the Rodney Terry era.
A Miners team that hadn't won a road game against a team with a winning record in three seasons, hadn't won a non-conference road game in seven seasons, has now as UTEP went to Tempe and upset Arizona State 76-63 for its first non-conference victory away from El Paso since beating Washington in 2013.
The comeback
Trailing 41-33 after a first half that was evenly played until its final two minutes, UTEP made up for it with its best second half of Terry's era.
Souley Boum opened it with a personal 9-0 run on three possessions, Bryson Williams keyed a 10-1 run at the midpoint of the half and a later 8-0 run and the Miners saw it home.
