It began in ho-hum fashion, the way so many of these November non-conference games do.
But then it all slipped south.
Southeastern Louisiana built a 15 point halftime lead over UTEP and never let the Miners up for air, taking a 72-56 win Wednesday night in front of 6,348 stunned fans in the Don Haskins Center.
"Basically, we were manhandled by Southeastern Louisiana," UTEP coach Tim Floyd said. "They shot a better percentage, they made seven more field goals than us, they outrebounded us, they were quicker to the ball than us, their guard play was better than ours, we were soft around the rim and we had no juice to the boards after that.
