Slow starting UTEP women's basketball team falls to Weber State for fourth straight loss

The UTEP women's basketball team's string of slow starts continued Saturday at Weber State, and the result was a 68-63 loss that was their fourth straight.

This also marked the fifth consecutive game the Miners were down double-figures in the first quarter, as the Wildcats scored the first 15 points and turned back a Miner run in the second and third quarters to send UTEP to 2-4.

The Miners clawed all the way back and were within 43-41 with 4:07 left in the third quarter after a Katarina Zec 3-pointer closed a 17-7 second-half-opening run, but the energy it took to get back in the game showed.
