The UTEP women's basketball team no longer has to answer questions about its toughness, resilience and rebuilt depth.
Missing four players, including two starters and their sixth woman, and enduring a poor shooting night, nine-player UTEP rallied in the fourth quarter for a 62-57 victory against Seattle in its opener of the South Point Thanksgiving Shootout.
There will be more questions to answer Saturday against Kansas, but the Miners will address them with a 5-0 record after a hard-fought win.
How it happened
UTEP traveled to Las Vegas without starter Avery Crouse, sixth player Mahri Petree and Adhel Tac, who are in COVID protocol, and played without Elina Arike, who is in concussion protocol.
