The UTEP Miners are going into Saturday's game against UNLV looser, but confident. Bret Bloomquist/El Paso Times
UTEP's biggest bright spot after its opening loss to Northern Arizona was special teams, which was one of UNLV's problem areas in its loss to USC.
Most notably for the Miners, Terry Juniel is tied for seventh nationally in kickoff returns at 32 yards per game, while UNLV is 119th nationally in kickoff coverage, giving up 38 yards per return.
"It comes down to everybody knowing their assignment, creating lines and me being able to find it and hit it with speed," Juniel said.
