With UTEP in the market for a head men's basketball coach, the focus shifts to athletic director Jim Senter for a pivotal hire in his tenure.
Rodney Terry was the first coach he hired that was entirely his search, and since then he has shown a propensity to hire head coaches from smaller programs. The exception was his more successful hire, volleyball coach Ben Wallis, who was an assistant at New Mexico State.
