UTEP sophomore Alyssa Palacios was named Conference USA Women's Soccer Goal Keeper of the Week on Monday by Conference USA officials.
Palacios, who is from Carrollton, Texas, helped the Miners to a pair of shutout victories last weekend — 2-0 over Nevada and 1-0 over UT-Rio Grande Valley. The Miners are now 7-1-2 on the season and Palacios has eight shutouts. She has given up only four goals all season and two of those came on penalty kicks. This was the second time Palacios has won the honor this season.
"We are very excited about Alyssa being recognized for her outstanding play this weekend,” UTEP head coach Kevin Cross said.
