How it happened
Hanks beat Bowie 45-23 because it made more big plays Friday night, getting two Bowie fumbles and two turnovers on downs inside their own 6-yard line and mixing in enough explosive offensive plays.
Two sequences were telling. Tied 7-7 late in the first quarter, Bowie drove to the 18-yard line, but fumbled a snap, and on the next play Aaron Molina threw an 82-yard touchdown pass to Michael Blanco to make it 13-7.
