Through no fault of its own, UTEP's football season may have suffered another setback. Its Nov. 14 opponent, UTSA, just postponed this week's game with Rice because of a COVID outbreak.
Three of UTEP's last four opponents have postponed or cancelled their game with the Miners because of COVID issues, but before Friday, UTSA had none of those concerns.
Then Friday morning the Roadrunners announced their outbreak.
"We are certainly disappointed that we have had to make the difficult decision to postpone Saturday's game with Rice," said UTSA athletic director Lisa Campos, the former senior women's administrator at UTEP.
