Aaron Jones' attack on the UTEP career record book picked up pace in Saturday's 42-10 victory over Houston Baptist even though he only played briefly in the second half. He finished with 14 carries for 228 yards and two touchdowns, including 119 yards on nine rushes in the opening quarter.
Jones didn't play after the first series of the third quarter, which leaves open the question of how many records he could have broken if there hadn't been bigger priorities, such as keeping him healthy for the final three games.
"That's always in my head, but I had fun," Jones said.
