There isn't precedent for this 2020 UTEP football season and that shows up in the form of the longest streak away from the Sun Bowl in program history.
Saturday's game at Rice will mark the third time UTEP has played five straight road games and the revised schedule will have them away from the Sun Bowl for 75 days, the longest stretch in program history. That will happen if UTEP plays Southern Miss in the Sun Bowl, as they are scheduled to do on Dec. 4.
"I thought about that on the practice field, we just don't play at home," UTEP coach Dana Dimel said.
