To the average football fan, the Alliance of American Football is a chance to keep watching the game through the lean sports time of late February.
For players like former UTEP deep snapper Nick Dooley, now plying his trade for one of the best teams in the AAF, the league is a lifeline to the game they love.
"Walking back on a football field has been amazing; it's like I never left," said Dooley, who is on the roster of the team near his hometown, the Arizona Hotshots.
