Mo Westmoreland knew he wasn't chasing low-hanging fruit when he transferred to UTEP from Kilgore College this spring.
The Miners have made a profitable living through junior college recruiting, which is how they built their defensive line from a perennial eyesore to the strength of the team in a short span of time.
The upshot is that this is a hard group to break into. All four starters and three backups return from a unit that had a breakthrough 2021 season, including a pair of Kilgore transfers who predate Westmoreland: star end Jadrian Taylor, who Westmoreland backs up, and star tackle Kelton Moss.
