Miners lose on 35-foot shot in triple overtime

The UTEP women's basketball team likely won't play a crazier game than they did in Thursday's 88-87 triple overtime loss at Florida International.

They certainly won't have a more heartbreaking one.

Seemingly about to get the biggest win of the year in the program's longest game ever when Sparkle Taylor hit a jumper for her 21st point with 2.9 seconds left, the Panthers scrambled up court and won it on Kristian Hudson's 35 foot bank shot at the buzzer.

Hudson finished with a game-high 35 points in a contest where UTEP blew several opportunities to win at the end of regulation and the first overtime then rallied in the second overtime to force a third.
