UTEP women's basketball coach Keitha Adams is all about teachable moments.
One she has harped over and over and over on came in the final, fatal moments of overtime one month ago against UTSA. The sequence started off well when UTEP, in a tie game and trying to get to double overtime, harried Roadrunner star Loryn Goodwin into an airballed 3-pointer.
Next came the teachable moment. As the UTEP players got caught ball-watching, UTSA post Crystal Chidomere launched herself over the baseline ad tapped the ball right back to Tesha Smith for a game-winning, point-blank layup.
At a glance, it looked like luck, but that wasn't Adams' takeaway at all.
