Scoring, rebounding and creating havoc with their defense surely won't come as easily for the UTEP women's basketball team down the road as it did in their 99-40 exhibition opener victory against Sul Ross Sunday.

UTEP was supposed to house the Division III school with one returnee and they most certainly did.

What was important was to get a look at the roster, to see how they play together, and in most area, the Miners passed their first test.

They scored frequently while shooting 50 percent, they won the boards against a severely outsized team 56-22 and they created 22 turnovers, enough to offset their one problem area, the 19 giveaways they had.
