Superstars generally remember what they did wrong, and UTEP's Bryson Williams had his struggles in UTEP's gritty 67-61 victory over Cal Irvine in the championship game of the WestStar Don Haskins Sun Bowl Invitational.
Williams, though, was there at the end when his team needed him. His free throw with 1:22 left broke the game's sixth tie, then his driving hook shot with 52 seconds left on an in-bounds play put the Miners up 64-61.
They were a bit fortunate to get a stop on the next possession when Irvine's red-hot Eyassu Worku missed twice, including a 3-pointer, and the Miners made enough free throws to close it out.
