From here forward, the UTEP football team would prefer not to learn about its depth through injuries.
The Miners have already been forced into that position once in this 2-week-old season, at the tailback position. That's where their experienced hand in line to be Aaron Jones' backup, Trayvon Hughes, was lost to the season with a knee injury.
This much, though, has become obvious in just a few practices: If they can answer every crisis as emphatically as they are on pace to answer this one, the Miners will have a good season.
Hughes' injury proved to be a door of opportunity, and in different ways true freshmen Quadraiz Wadley and Kevin Dove are barreling through it.
