The road portion of UTEP's schedule got off to a fast start in the first half of Tuesday's game at Arkansas State, but ultimately the Miners couldn't sustain it in the last 20 minutes as UTEP fell to 5-2 with a 76-73 loss.
UTEP led throughout the first half when it shot 56 percent from the field to jump out to a 44-36 advantage, by far their most productive offensive stretch of the season, but struggled, particularly on defense, after the intermission as the Red Wolves caught up and finally held off the Miners late.
