FRISCO — The UTEP women's basketball team's run in the Conference USA tournament ended in the most likely way.
In a 74-58 semifinal loss to Middle Tennessee on Friday night, the Miners ran into a better team and that better team ran right past them.
The No. 1 seed from the East Division used a 17-0 advantage in fast-break points in the first half to leave UTEP behind and earn a Saturday championship game with Rice. The Blue Raiders will be seeking their 19th NCAA tournament appearance since 1983.
In earning it, Middle Tennessee gave UTEP a look at where they need to go.
