The first half was a train wreck. Yet UTEP survived.
The second half was a duel, a back and forth, a give and take and hope was everywhere.
UTEP trailed just 1-0 after a disastrous first 45 minutes. But Middle Tennessee took advantage of two chances in the final 45 and blanked UTEP 3-0 in a Conference USA women's soccer game at University Field.
The Miners could have easily been out of this thing in the first half. The Blue Raiders attacked non-stop, putting UTEP's talented keeper Alyssa Palacios under siege. Middle Tennessee took 13 shots in the first half, six of those on goal, while the Miners could manage just two shots, one on goal.
