The UTEP men's basketball team's offense will be a work in progress this year, and missing two starters Thursday night against Louisiana Tech, there wasn't much progress to see for much of the night in a 64-52 loss.
Playing without two of their top offensive players, Kenote Kennedy (ankle) and Christian Agnew (COVID), the Miners fell behind 39-19, ended up 33% from the field with 17 turnovers, and lost their third straight. The Miners fell to 7-7 overall, 0-2 in Conference USA, while La. Tech moved to 12-3, 3-0.
Jamal Bieniemy was the bright spot, scoring a career-high 27 points, including 20 of UTEP's 25 points in the first half, but he didn't get much help until the Miners were 20 points behind.
