Bob Stull, the man many credit with bringing the UTEP athletic program into modern times, has decided it's time.
The University of Texas at El Paso athletic director since 1998, Stull will retire Thursday to spend more time with his children and grandchildren.
"It's time," the 71-year-old Stull said. "Kim (his wife) just wants to get next to our kids and grandkids. And they are all in Missouri. We get to see them three times a year, and that's just not enough."
"It's really been a hard decision because we love UTEP and we love the city of El Paso," Stull added.
