Diego Luna, the El Paso Locomotive's 18-year-old sensation, will be leaving the club for more than a week, but for the best of reasons.
The striker, who has nine goals and five assists this season, has been called up to the U.S. Men’s U-20 National Team. After El Paso's Friday night first-round USL Championship playoff game against the Oakland Roots, Luna was set to join the national team on Monday.
He is the only player on the 23-person roster not affiliated with a first-division club. Eighteen play club soccer affiliated with an MLS team while four others play abroad.
