The El Paso Locomotive's search for goals has taken two different directions as they prepare for Friday's game at Real Monarchs.
They went out and got a goal scorer from their past when they brought Sebastian Velasquez back in the fold after a stint in Israel.
Then they turned to the most likely place in the existing roster, receiving two goals from Dylan Mares in a 2-1 win Saturday against New Mexico United, which earned Mares notice on the USL team of the week.
In the aftermath of seeing its 18-game unbeaten streak snapped last Wednesday at Rio Grande Valley, El Paso feels it is getting in a better place as the season reaches its middle third.
