John Hutchinson was named the El Paso Locomotive's second coach on Thursday.
Hutchinson, 41) is an Australian with coaching experience in the Seattle Sounders organization who spent last season as a top assistant in Japan's first division.
Hutchinson takes over for reigning USL coach of the year Mark Lowry, who guided the Locomotive to the third-best record in the 2021 regular season (18-10-4) before departing for the Indy Eleven.
Hutchinson inherits a perennial power which has already announced the return of most of its corps group: Diego Luna, Aaron Gomez, Luis Solignac, Matt Bahner, Richie Ryan, Eder Borrelli, Macauley King, Sebastian Velasquez, Andrew Fox, Dylan Mares and El Pasoan Chapa Herrera.
