The El Paso Locomotive may still have some work to do to clinch the USL's Group C.
They ground out another 0-0 draw at Colorado Springs that left them a tenuous two-point lead atop the group after New Mexico defeated Real Monarchs.
El Paso now needs to equal New Mexico's result in Saturday's final match of the season to stay atop the group.
The Locomotive are at Real Monarchs while New Mexico has a still-unscheduled game against Rio Grande Valley that will be a makeup for a match postponed earlier this year.
The determination on when and if that United match will be played is still to be determined by the USL.
