The El Paso Locomotive got everything a team on a five-game losing streak could ask for in its franchise-record 5-0 victory against Monterey Bay on Saturday at Southwest University Park.
They grabbed a quick lead before Monterey Bay went a man down, they were lethal on set pieces, they got a moment of brilliance from Diego Luna and most importantly for a team that came in 27th out of 27 USL Championship teams in goals allowed, they defended with a purpose for their first clean sheet.
Monterey Bay didn't have a shot attempt in a definitive first half when El Paso put six of its 10 shots on net and two in it.
