After a year hiatus, the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl is already having one of the more unusual run-ins in its 86-year history.
Executive director Bernie Olivas thinks that's a good thing when he talks about potential teams that could land in El Paso for the 10 a.m. New Year's Eve kickoff. That is a long list.
"It's never been this wide open this late in the season," Olivas said less than two weeks away from the Dec. 5 Selection Sunday. "And there are no teams that will be available that we wouldn't want. It's crazy.
