David Lattin will appear live on ESPN's popular Sports Center at 9:30 a.m. MDT Saturday in recognition of Texas Western's famed NCAA basketball championship March 19, 1966.
Lattin will appear live via a hookup from his home in Houston. Lattin was the center on the 1966 team that won the national title ... the historic first ... the first time five African-Americans started against five whites in an NCAA championship game. Most credit that game with breaking down the walls of segregation in the South and some have called it the most important basketball game ever played.
The entire 1966 team will be honored at the Final Four on April 1-4 in Houston.
