Sean Kugler has resigned as UTEP’s head football coach, effective immediately, the university’s Athletics Department announced Sunday.
“After meeting with coach (Bob) Stull and discussing my future and the future of the program, we mutually agreed the best thing is for me to step down as head coach,” Kugler said in a statement.
Kugler finished his UTEP tenure with an 18-36 record, including 11-22 in Conference USA play. He led the Miners to a berth in the New Mexico Bowl in 2014.
