For all the amazing things Emmanuel Korir has done in half a year at UTEP, he still hasn't lost his ability to amaze.
He's now the reigning U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association National Athlete of the Week and he did it in a way that has track fans all over America buzzing.
In recovering from a slow start to run an 800 time of 1 minute, 43.73 seconds at the Brutus Hamilton Challenge last week, the second fastest time in NCAA history, Korir became the third person ever and the youngest to establish personal bests of both sub-45 seconds in the 400 and sub-1:44 in the 800.
