The UTEP freshman is the indoor national champion in that event, that's what he'll run at the NCAA outdoors.
But on a windy day at the UTEP Invitational, a small meet where nothing much was expected, he threw down an amazing marker of just how talented he is.
Running in the 400 meters, supposedly his second-best event, Korir ran a Kidd Field record 44.67 seconds that ranks as the fastest time in the NCAA this season by a bunch, the second fastest in the world and the second best in UTEP history, .
