LAS VEGAS — The UTEP women's basketball team was behind from the start against Kansas, rallied to take the lead but ultimately a cold spell in the first quarter undid any shot an upset.
A night after stopping Seattle in the South Point Thanksgiving Shootout to remain undefeated on the season, the Miners went cold for five minutes of the second quarter and Kansas took advantage, eventually winning 81-55.
The Miners will work to regroup after their first loss of the season with five games, three on the road, in December prior to the start of Conference USA play on Dec.
