Kai Locksley is going to get his NFL shot.
The former UTEP quarterback has been invited to the Houston Texans' minicamp, which will start after the NFL's coronavirus suspension is lifted. Locksley announced the invitation on Twitter.
"Officially invited to the #HoustonTexans Mini Camp. God I Great! Wish I could call my brother - but I know he's upstairs along side God, helping orchestrate this blessing and opportunity. Let's Work It. #LLMMxBB!!"
Lockley's older brother, Meiko Locksley, was shot and killed in 2017.
After starting last season on the bench following an offseason arrest, Locklsey, a dual-threat quarterback, worked his way into a starting spot and finished with 732 rushing yards and led the team in passing by going 103-181 for 1,329 yards, six touchdowns and five interceptions.
