Kelvin Jones showed up to his freshman year of high school in Bismark, N.D., and, at 6-foot-9, was hardly inconspicuous.
Smiling, the personable Jones said, "They told me they didn't have boys volleyball and suggested I try basketball."
And the journey began.
But that was only the beginning of the hoops journey. Young men and women find their way into hoop dreams from all corners of the world, from all angles of life. Kelvin Jones grew up in Galeana in Chihuahua in Mexico ... grew up playing soccer and volleyball. His family had settled in the small town, something of a Mormon colony, in the 1870s.
