Injured quarterback Locksley expected to be back when UTEP football plays UNT

The UTEP football team enters this week with two potential starting quarterbacks against defending Conference USA champion North Texas — and two different game plans.

Kai Locksley was in a boot Monday while Ryan Metz was with the first team. However, Locksley, who sprained his ankle late in the fourth quarter of Saturday's 30-21 loss to UTSA, is optimistic he will play Saturday. And so is head coach Dana Dimel.

"Definitely got good news, the swelling has been going down, so much better," Locksley said at Monday's practice. "They say if I stay in the training room, three to five times a day" he'll have a chance to play.
