Highlights from Week 10 of high school football in El Paso. Ashlee Burns, El Paso Times
With a wild game between Ysleta and Hanks on the line Friday night, with the clock ticking toward a minute to go, one thing seemed certain: On fourth-and-goal from the 2-yard line, looking for a winning touchdown, Ysleta was going to get the ball to star receiver Giovanni Martinez.
Hanks was just as determined not to allow Martinez to get a fourth touchdown catch that would have gotten him more than 200 yards.
Both got what they looked for, but it was Ysleta that left happy after Martinez took the ball on a sweep for a game-winning touchdown in a 42-38 win.
