Heavy underdogs UTEP ready for shot at Texas Longhorns

Obviously UTEP's dream this weekend in Austin is to engineer one of the program's all-time upsets and beat No. 14 Texas as a 43-point underdog, a feat that would rival the 1985 victory against Brigham Young as the program's most unlikely moment.

There are other, more probable ways, the Miners can come back to El Paso feeling good about themselves and their season.

This is a game where moral victories are on the table.

If UTEP can improve on its offensive line and make some holes for tailback Deion Hankins, if quarterback Gavin Hardison can build on his growth, if the defense can make a few plays and string together some stops, it probably won't be enough to get to 2-0 for the first time since 2005.
