What does the lion do in winter?
Tim Floyd roared for 42 years, stalking a basketball court and coaching and teaching and, yes, often roaring. He did it with joy and he did it with passion and he poured his very soul into it.
Now, at 64 — albeit a young 64 — the lion that is Tim Floyd has stepped away ... has stepped into winter.
And he is happy.
Floyd shocked the college basketball world on Monday night, Nov. 27, after a difficult loss to Lamar University. He walked silently up the tunnel in the Don Haskins Center, his home away from home for so many years.
