UTEP cross country runner Titus Cheriyot adjusts to life as a Miner Bret Bloomquist, Wochit

At a glance, the quick success of UTEP cross country freshman Titus Cheruiyot makes it seem as if coach Paul Ereng just called the runner factory in Eldoret, Kenya and ordered another superstar.

Cheruiyot, recently named Conference USA runner of the week following his victory in the second division of the Notre Dame Invitational, has now won two of his three races since arriving in El Paso less than four months ago and is very much on track to be UTEP's next standout distance runner.
