Dana Dimel stopped one step short of naming Kai Locksley as the starter next Saturday against UNLV, but he came fairly close.
"I'll have to look at the game film," Dimel said. "Right now, I'm not in a position to make a decision, but if I did right now, it would probably be Kai. For a first-time starter, I didn't see him do too much to disappoint me.
"Every quarterback makes mistakes, but he played decently for a first start," Dimel said.
Locksley was 13-of-26 passing for 120 yards and an interception, and one screen pass that came within a few inches of counting as a touchdown pass but instead went as a 32-yard run from Quardraiz Wadley.
