Everyone remembers where they were last March when the world shut down. What was notable about UTEP javelin thrower Roosa Yloenen was she had a few days head start on everyone.
By the time college track was cancelled, Yloenen had learned her 2020 season was lost to a torn rotator cuff. The sophomore from Hankasalmi, Finland knew she was looking at many months away from competition to rehab, coalesce and return to the form that saw her win a Conference USA title in 2019 as a freshman.
Then everyone else was looking at time away as well.
