Other than an unusual afternoon starting time and early date, UTEP’s first football practice of the year Thursday looked like any other first practice between the sidelines.
The difference was in the attitude.
Expectations, at least those outside the locker room, aren’t often high for the Miners, but they are now.
Coming off a bowl season and the first winning record in six years, when Aaron Jones was in the backfield, the task for UTEP is sustaining success, not finding it. They didn't do that after their previous two bowls in 2016 and 2010.
