UTEP junior sprinter Denae McFarlane is coming off her career best indoor season when she took bronze in the 60 meters and fifth in the 200 in her first season running for new assistant Bridgette Owens.
She arrived from Clarendon, Jamaica two years ago and quickly became a staple of the Miners' sprint corps, one of four UTEP sprinters from Jamaica.
The Miners open their outdoor season Friday in Tucson and McFarlane will compete in the 100 and 200.
What kind of shape are you in as the outdoor season begins?
I'm confident going into the first meet, I've been doing better in practice, dropping times, so I'm pretty excited.
