The process of getting better began again Monday for the UTEP football team, the first of three practices during a bye week where the Miners circle the wagons and retrench.
This week will be one of fundamentals and conditioning as UTEP looks for answers at the midpoint of a season with a 1-5 record.
"We've got to work hard, get people in the right spots, evaluate personnel," coach Sean Kugler said. "We've got to get the best 11 people out there. We can't worry about the record."
As to personnel, Kugler confirmed Ryan Metz is the quarterback going forward.
